Modifying the Bible is a neat tactic that's worked many times through history.

A modern success would be the Book of Mormon. The only way an enterprising Patriarch could introduce polygamy into the minds of pious Christians would be through hacking the source code -- no amount of charismatic speech could alter such a core aspect of religion (moderating sexuality).

A less conniving example is The Lord of the Rings, or more precisely, the entire history of Middle Earth: a deliberate re-writing of the Bible by Tolkien. He may have gone beyond mere re-telling, though to extracting the syntax of a bible (the meta-bible) without actually resorting to retelling it myth-for-myth. In the end he crafted a cosmology based entirely on Anglo-Saxon myths and concepts with thematic elements of Christianity woven subtly in.

It will work, if you're good. Otherwise, you'll get put on the shelf next to Asimov's Bible...

Love the interview...spychips.com is an interesting relation to the whole rfid stuff.

From manna to soma, ay? (brave new world reference to soma which i recently received a piece of spam advert for 'soma')

Philosophy of the worms to greater communal intelligence is a challenge worth pursuing.

Open source democracy, open source intelligence...& artificial collective intelligence that are 'community-driven technologies' steering us out of the current scene of a horribly amusing b-movie.

As someone who works with RFID technology on a daily basis, I have seen it's uses expand exponentially. His "RFID-tag currency" is already in existence (albeit in a cruder form). Testament is a great read. I highly recommend it.
