It wasn't that hard to work out guys :)
He says he buys the $2 notes for $3, so selling 4 of them for $5 means you're getting $12 of value.

Woz and I pranked someone in his car once. We were driving around Palo Alto in his first Acura NSX, going to his house, and he had a cellphone scanner plugged in to his car stereo. We were scanning around listening to phone calls, when one caught our attention.

A guy and a girl were talking, and this guy is apologizing for cheating on her with another woman! He was a real cheezeball... total sleaze, using every cliche phrase out of the book of losers.

Woz and I were both totally offended by this guy. So when they hung up, Woz pulled the number, hit REDIAL, and the woman answers the phone. Woz says, "Leave him! That guy is totally insincere. He is lying to you! Can't you hear that?"

She, of course, is stunned. What? Who is this? How do you know...?

"Just leave the guy! He's a weasel!" And Woz hangs up.

This was probably 1992/3. Somewhere in there, I guess.

I was just a lowly repair tech for Apple, but Woz treated me like an equal. He called in to the Tech Support hotline and waited on hold just like any other customer. Didn't identify himself, or anything. Turns out he had a common problem, but had like 5 of these machines (PowerBook 180). Since he was local, I offered to come by after work and fix them for him instead of him having to send all of them back for a small hardware replacement. He said, "Really? That would be great!" Only when he gave me his address did he finally identify himself to me as Woz.

Seriously nice guy. A lot of fun, and really personable. Very polite. I can't be happier that he is financially secure and set for life. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy...

Woz should read "JPod" by Douglas Coupland.

*** SPOILER ALERT ****

In that book, they develop a Globe that is exactly like the idea Woz describes at the end of the interview!

Whoever wrote this article needs a serious grammar check. His “hit autobiography” was either written by him, or it was a “hit BIOGRAPHY” written by Gina Smith. But surely NOT a “hit autobiography written by Gina Smith.”

hey, Alex "Sherlock Holmes" Wallace: read it again. it says written "with," not "by." if you knew anything about journalism you'd know that's an established convention for people who write autobiographies. nice try, though.
